Steve Jack is a songwriter and singer who writes in a broad range of styles. Steve's music includes influences of Folk, Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, Latin, Irish and Pop music. The variety of types of song styles are very eclectic. Many genres are represents in Steve's song catalogue. Enjoy.

Steve Jack performed in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC area for over twenty-five years. During that time he has played at many of the areas well known venues. Those include; The Cat’s Cradle, Broad Street Café, Six String Café & Music Hall, The Berkley Café, The ArtsCenter in Carrboro, The Backstreet Pub in Beaufort and numerous others. In addition, Steve has appeared in various formats at The Festival for the Eno, Apple Chill, CenterFest in Durham, The Beaufort Music Festival, Carrboro Music Festival & The Durham Blues Festival.

While a student at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Steve teamed up with guitar, claw-hammer banjo, lap & hammered dulcimer player and singer- Brian Underwood and formed acoustic duo Bitternut Hickory. The pair performed Old-Time and contemporary acoustic music mainly in Morgantown. They were a favorite at the student union pub The Blue Tic Tavern.

Steve released a solo CD in 1995. The project comprised of all original music written by Steve. The disc was released on Steve’s own label Seneca Records and received very positive reviews. Steve wrote the soundtrack to Josh Wittman’s Independent film “Texas by Bus”. Since that time, he has performed as a solo artist, as a duo with Dobro/Lap Steel guitar player David Burke and with the groups Ex Libris, Man About Town, Coyote Moon, Soul Kitchen, Real Reubens, Jo Gore & the Alternative and Steve Jack & The Cadillacs.

Steve recently re-located to Connecticut where he plans to continue his recording and performing career.

Steve released his latest project Bridges in January of 2017. 

Steve currently plays acoustic and electric guitar, harmonica and sings lead in local band Nine North. The band performs primarily Americana, Classic Rock, Roots and Blues music.
